Design and construction
The A/27/E is a teardrop-shaped, sub-miniature charge output accelerometer manufactured in titanium and built with an all-welded construction for a robust, hermetically sealed sensor. Using DJB’s unique Konic Shear® sensing element, its low mass makes it well-suited to the vast majority of lightweight structure vibration measurement applications, where minimising mass loading is essential.
The A/27/E is adhesive-mounted, and a detachment tool is provided to shear adhesive joints during removal. Shock removal should be avoided as it may compromise the integrity of the transducer. Abrasive cleaning of the attachment face can reduce base thickness over time, so sparing use of adhesive will support longevity and measurement accuracy.
