Accessibility Policy

Our commitment to accessibility
Condition Monitoring Technology Group (CMTG) is committed to providing a website that is accessible and easy to use for the widest possible audience. We recognise that accessibility is an ongoing process and are continually working to improve the usability and inclusivity of our websites.
Our aim is to ensure that as many people as possible, including those using assistive technologies, can access and interact with our online content.
Standards and guidelines
Our websites are designed and developed with reference to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 (opens in new tab), published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards wherever reasonably possible, in line with current best practice and UK accessibility expectations under the Equality Act 2010.
How we support accessibility
We have taken a number of steps to support accessibility across our websites, including the following.
Structure and layout
- Pages use semantic HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to separate content from presentation.
- Content is structured using clear, descriptive headings to support screen readers and keyboard navigation.
- Navigation and layout are consistent across the site.
Text and readability
- Content is written using clear, plain language wherever possible.
- Text can be resized using standard browser or operating system controls without loss of content or functionality.
- No information is conveyed solely through colour.
Images and media
- Informative images include alternative (alt) text describing their content or function.
- Decorative images are implemented in a way that does not interfere with assistive technologies.
- Videos hosted on third-party platforms such as YouTube include captions where available. Captions can be enabled using the “CC” option in the video player.
Forms and interactive elements
- Form fields are clearly labelled.
- Validation errors are identified before submission and described in text.
- Interactive elements are designed to be usable via keyboard navigation.
Links
- Links are clearly identifiable and distinguishable from surrounding text.
- Link text is meaningful and describes the destination or action.
- Links generally open in the same browser window unless otherwise stated.
Assistive technologies and user settings
Most modern operating systems and browsers include built-in accessibility features such as screen readers, text resizing, colour contrast adjustments, and voice control. These features can be accessed through your device or browser settings.
Further information is available from the following providers:
- Apple Accessibility Support (opens in new tab)
- Google Accessibility Support (opens in new tab)
- Microsoft Accessibility Support (opens in new tab)
Some users may also choose to use specialist tools, fonts, or browser extensions to support their browsing experience. While we do not provide or endorse specific third-party tools, we aim to ensure our websites are compatible with commonly used assistive technologies.
Colour contrast
We review colour contrast across our websites to support users with visual impairments or colour vision deficiencies. Where improvements are identified, we aim to address them as part of ongoing design and content updates.
Documents and downloads
Some content on our websites is provided in downloadable document formats such as PDF. We aim to ensure that new documents are created with accessibility in mind.
Guidance on accessing PDF documents using assistive technologies is available from Adobe Acrobat Accessibility (opens in new tab).
Third-party content and websites
Our websites may include links to external websites or third-party platforms. We do not control the accessibility of these external sites, but we encourage third-party providers to meet accessibility standards where possible.
Feedback and contact
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our websites and are committed to making improvements wherever possible.
If you experience any difficulty accessing content on our website, or if you use assistive technology and encounter an issue, please contact us via the Contact Us page, providing details of:
- the issue encountered
- the page or content affected
- the technology or device you are using (if applicable)
Ongoing review
This accessibility policy is reviewed periodically to ensure it remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with current standards and best practices.
