Celebrating 40 years of Beran
Beran marked its 40th anniversary in 2024 spanning four decades since Andy Lobato founded the company in Torrington, North Devon in 1984. What began as a specialist in condition monitoring solutions has grown into a globally recognised name in advanced online condition monitoring and vibration equipment, and a cornerstone of the Condition Monitoring Technology Group (CMTG).
Four decades of growth
Since its founding, Beran has expanded significantly through strategic acquisitions that have broadened the group's capabilities across power generation, aerospace and automotive engineering. The CMTG group now includes Helitune, Prosig, DJB Instruments, Semia and SEI, each bringing specialist expertise to a group united by a shared focus on measurement, monitoring and analysis.
Beran's flagship products, including the PlantProtech protection and condition monitoring systems and PlantProtech Mobile, are trusted by operators worldwide for protecting and monitoring critical rotating assets, including turbines, generators and pumps, across applications from vibration diagnostics to machine protection.
A leadership milestone
The anniversary also marked a significant moment in Beran's history. Founder Andy Lobato retired as CEO in October 2024 after four decades at the helm, a period that saw the company grow from a single-site operation in North Devon into a global business serving customers across the power generation, aerospace and automotive sectors.
Paul Knight has been appointed as Beran's new CEO, leading the company into its next chapter with the same founding principles of quality, innovation and service.
