Beran heads to Dresden for vgbe Steam Turbines 2026 alongside In2ViBa
Beran will be attending the vgbe Conference Steam Turbines and Operation of Steam Turbines 2026, taking place on 10 and 11 June 2026 at the Maritim Hotel and Internationales Congress Center in Dresden, Germany, alongside partner Rik Geerdink of In2ViBa.
Hosted by vgbe energy e.V., the international technical association for the generation and storage of power and heat — the biennial conference brings together manufacturers, operators, planners, insurers and technical experts from across the steam turbine sector to share experience, knowledge and practical insight.
This year's conference runs under the theme Steam Turbines in the Changing Operational Regime, with a strong focus on professional exchange between participants. Key topics include challenges in steam turbine operation, maintenance strategies and dealing with findings, adaptation of the existing fleet, and compressor technology. The programme is complemented by themed cafés on specific technical topics and an accompanying technical exhibition.
Visitors can connect with Duncan Affleck, Sales Manager at Beran Instruments, and Rik Geerdink, Senior Vibration Expert and CEO of In2ViBa, at the Beran exhibition stand. Together, they will be on hand to discuss real-world steam turbine challenges and how advanced condition monitoring and vibration analysis are supporting reliable, flexible operation across the existing fleet.
Rik Geerdink is also a confirmed speaker at Beran Conference 2026 on 1 and 2 July at Beran HQ in Torrington, North Devon, where he will present a detailed case study on steam turbine rotor crack diagnosis — asking whether balancing data alone is sufficient to confirm a crack and what other indicators should be monitored.
