DJB Instruments at Orbit South Central

2 Feb 2026

DJB Instruments recently took part in Orbit South Central, a monthly networking event bringing together organisations working across the UK space sector.

The February event took place on Wednesday, 25 February 2026, at the Future Towns Innovation Hub at the University of Southampton, where companies, researchers and industry specialists gathered to discuss developments across the regional and national space ecosystem.

DJB’s Andy Prince was invited to speak alongside representatives from Green-Co and the University of Southampton, sharing insights with attendees from across the South Central space community.

During his talk, Andy discussed DJB Instruments’ long heritage in manufacturing vibration measurement piezoelectric accelerometers in the UK, and how the company’s work supporting space-related applications has grown in recent years. DJB’s sensors are used in demanding testing and monitoring environments where precise vibration measurement is critical to system performance and reliability.

Orbit South Central events are designed to connect key players within the UK space industry, providing a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing and discussion around emerging technologies, funding opportunities and regional initiatives supporting the sector.

The event also featured presentations from John Camilleri of Green-Co, who spoke about his career across the space industry and related activity across the South, and Rose Swears from the University of Southampton, who shared research into green hypergolic propellant ignition analysis and the role of rigorous testing in propulsion system safety.

DJB Instruments was pleased to be part of the event and to contribute to discussions taking place across the growing South Central space cluster.

You can learn more about the event on the Space South Central website.
