Ieuan Mogridge
Rotating Plant and Dynamics Engineer, EDF Energy
Ieuan Mogridge works for EDF Energy as a Rotating Plant and Dynamics Engineer. With over 20 years of experience in the power industry, he brings extensive knowledge of vibration instrumentation, measurement and diagnostics across a wide range of plant and machinery.
Presentation title
High-frequency vibration of emergency boiler feed pump pipework
Presentation abstract
During an infrequently performed test at an EDF Energy site, operators noted a loud, high-pitched noise emanating from the emergency boiler feed pump pipework. Central Dynamics was asked to investigate the source of the noise and establish whether damage was occurring. This presentation covers the full investigative process: instrumentation installation using a Beran PlantProtech™ PROTOR Mobile, measurement of the noise, and analysis of the results.
EDF Energy

EDF Energy is one of the UK's largest electricity producers, operating a fleet of nuclear power stations that provide a significant proportion of the country's low-carbon generation. EDF's engineering teams work across some of the most technically demanding environments in the energy sector, maintaining and monitoring critical rotating plant, turbines and generators to the highest standards of reliability and safety.
With nuclear generation at the heart of the UK's long-term energy strategy, the condition monitoring and vibration analysis expertise that EDF brings to Beran Conference 2026 reflects the real-world challenges of keeping complex plant operating safely across decades of service.
At Beran Conference 2026, EDF Energy is represented by engineers from both its power generation and nuclear services divisions. Ieuan Mogridge and Ahmed Khan will share a detailed case study drawn directly from operational experience, offering delegates a rare insight into diagnostic investigation at one of the UK's major generation sites.
