CMG acquires Prosig, expanding condition monitoring capabilities
CMG Limited has acquired Prosig Limited, the Fareham-based data acquisition and signal analysis specialist. Prosig will retain its operation in Fareham, Hampshire, and continue to operate under its own distinct brand identity, under the leadership of General Manager Jim Marshall. The company's founder, Dr Colin Mercer, is also being retained to support the business.
The acquisition expands CMG's expertise within condition monitoring, broadening its range of products and services focused on preventative maintenance systems for effective and intelligent machinery management.
Strategic fit
The addition of Prosig complements CMG's existing activities across many areas, with significant product and technology synergies and additional opportunities within key application areas that support CMG's objectives for future product diversification.
CMG specialises in the monitoring of complex rotating machinery, vehicles and structures within the aerospace and industrial sectors — providing technologies and services that optimise machinery performance, identify potential failures and help customers reduce the cost of ownership, improve asset availability and enhance safety.
At the time of acquisition, the CMG group comprised Helitune, Beran Instruments and Systems & Electronics Inc. (SEI), with headquarters in the UK and subsidiaries in the USA, Germany and Italy.
