Helitune GmbH relocates to new facilities in Gilching, Germany

Helitune GmbH, now in its tenth year, has relocated to larger, better-equipped facilities at Lilienthalstrasse 2a, Gilching, expanding its capacity to support the German Armed Forces and continuing a relationship that stretches back more than 25 years.

A long-standing partnership

When the German Armed Forces (GAF) first began using the Helitune Rotortuner-5 (RT-5), support was provided from the UK and then through a dealer. As the Bundeswehr became one of Helitune's largest customers, the decision was taken to establish an in-country subsidiary, Helitune GmbH, in 2003, delivering efficient maintenance and service capabilities across all seven helicopter types operated by the GAF.

A Total Care Contract was developed in conjunction with the German Armed Forces and the Bundesamt für Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung (BWB), covering all Helitune equipment operated by the GAF. Helitune also secured a TLB Contract to support vibration issues experienced by operators, moving from hardware maintenance alone to the provision of complete vibration solutions.

Following military reforms that commenced in 2011, a revised Total Care concept was agreed and implemented in 2012, prompting the relocation to the new Gilching facility to accommodate increased stock-holding and operational requirements.

The new facilities

  • Improved laboratory chamber
