CMTG triumphs again at the North Devon Manufacturing Awards
CMTG has been named Manufacturer of the Year at the 25th North Devon Manufacturing Awards, held at the Barnstaple Hotel on Thursday 10 October 2024. The award — won by CMTG for the second consecutive year, having also claimed the title in 2023 — recognised an 18-month collaborative project with the University of Bristol and Innovate UK to enhance an algorithm developed 15 years ago to minimise aircraft vibration.
The award-winning project
The project focused on improving the Minimum Flight Routine (MFR) algorithm at the heart of Helitune's rotor track and balance technology — working closely with the University of Bristol's Aerospace team and supported by Innovate UK funding. The result is a more precise and efficient solution for minimising helicopter rotor vibration, with direct benefits for operators in terms of reduced maintenance time, lower operating costs and improved aircraft availability.
This Award recognises an outstanding submission that described the improvement of an algorithm first developed 15 years ago, by working closely with the University of Bristol and Innovate UK over an 18-month project lifecycle to minimise aircraft vibration.
