DATS-HITS

Get reliable impact test results, the first time

DATS-HITS guides you step by step from set-up to the results report, so you can identify natural frequencies and resonances quickly and accurately.

Description

Impact testing, also known as bump, tap or hammer resonance testing, uses an instrumented force hammer to excite a structure and an accelerometer to measure how it responds. It's one of the quickest ways to find a structure's natural frequencies and resonances.

DATS-HITS combines Prosig hardware and DATS software into a fast, reliable hammer impact testing system. It guides you through every step, from set-up and pre-tests to capture and reporting, making it ideal for engineers, technicians and students alike.

Key benefits

  • Easy set-up: step-by-step guidance through set-up and testing reduces errors and the need for re-tests
  • Simple and fast: automatic processing produces reliable results quickly
  • Power and depth: the full DATS software is there when experienced users need more
  • Built on real-world experience: developed for Prosig's own consultancy work

How it works

  1. Set up: configure your hammer and accelerometer channels
  2. Pre-test: check the time history and pre-test results before you start
  3. Capture: capture your hits, with automatic checks on the data
  4. Report: produce a results report, ready to share

Features

  • Four channels upwards: based on the 4-channel DATS-solo, and expandable with other DATS hardware for larger tests
  • Automated analysis: windowing, transfer function type and frequency range are handled for you
  • Data export: export results to Word and Excel, or for FEA model validation
  • USB powered: the DATS-solo runs from your laptop's USB port, with no separate power supply
  • Prosync synchronisation: every sample on every channel is synchronised
  • Sensors: use your own hammer and accelerometers, or buy them from Prosig
