Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Setting high standards for ethical, sustainable and transparent business
At CMTG, we are committed to conducting business ethically, sustainably, and within the law. We aim to be a responsible buyer and supplier of goods and services, setting high standards for ourselves and expecting the same from our partners.
We also expect our suppliers to comply with all applicable local laws and regulations, and to respect internationally recognised human rights and labour practices.
Health, safety and the environment
We believe that an excellent company is, by definition, a safe company. CMTG is fully committed to meeting its responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated regulations.
We provide safe, healthy working conditions and take all necessary precautions to ensure our activities do not pose a risk to employees, contractors, or the public. We expect suppliers to comply with applicable legislation such as CoSHH, REACH, and RoHS, and to actively support a culture of safety, particularly when operating on our sites.
CMTG is also committed to minimising emissions, waste, and unnecessary use of natural resources. We prioritise reuse and recycling and expect suppliers to take responsibility for managing and reducing their carbon footprint, encouraging others in their supply chains to do the same.
Anti-bribery and corruption
CMTG has zero tolerance for bribery, corruption, and unethical inducements, including facilitation payments and kickbacks.
We operate responsibly across all our markets and engage transparently with stakeholders to manage the social, environmental, and ethical impact of our operations. We comply with all relevant anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws in the jurisdictions where we do business.
Suppliers are expected to uphold these standards and must not offer or accept any bribe, kickback, or incentive involving CMTG employees, their families, or associates.
Accounting and business integrity
CMTG maintains robust internal controls and risk assessment processes to ensure accurate, transparent financial reporting.
Suppliers must also keep accurate records of all business activities related to their relationship with CMTG. These records must fairly reflect all financial transactions and withstand audit scrutiny.
Conflicts of interest
We follow all laws, regulations, and directives concerning conflicts of interest — including the employment of public officials or relationships that could unduly influence decision-making.
Suppliers must disclose any relationship that may represent a conflict of interest, including family relationships with CMTG employees. CMTG employees are also expected to disclose such relationships to ensure transparency and accountability.
Information security
Suppliers must protect any confidential or sensitive information relating to CMTG, its employees, customers, and operations. This responsibility continues even after a contract or engagement ends.
All parties must take care in handling, transmitting, or discussing information that could result in misuse, fraud, or unauthorised disclosure.
Living Wage commitment
CMTG is a Living Wage Employer, committed to fair pay for all employees. We believe that paying a decent wage benefits our workforce and makes good business sense.
We follow the standards set by the Living Wage Foundation, using independently calculated rates updated annually. All CMTG employees receive at least the Living Wage, except for apprentices on structured progression plans.
Anti-slavery and human trafficking
CMTG recognises the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking in business and supply chains. These practices are criminal violations of fundamental human rights, and we are committed to identifying and addressing any risk in our operations or partnerships.
We expect all suppliers to take proactive steps to prevent modern slavery, including auditing their own supply chains and reporting any potential concerns.
Reporting concerns
Suppliers who believe that a CMTG employee, or anyone acting on behalf of the Group, has engaged in illegal or improper conduct should report it immediately. Reports may also be made regarding potential violations of this policy.
Reports can be submitted confidentially via email to our Human Resources Team. Honest reporting will not affect a supplier’s relationship with CMTG.
