The role
The Company is seeking to recruit a cleaner at our Torrington facility. This is an integral role to support the cleaning of our site in Torrington. The Cleaner is responsible for ensuring that all areas of the premises are kept clean, tidy, and maintained on a regular basis at appropriate times of the day to keep disruption to employees to a minimum.
Ideally this is a Full-time position – 38.5 hours per week, however there is flexibility on hours for the ideal candidate. Minimum 25 hours per week. Mutually agreeable times worked between 07:00 – 18:00 Monday – Thursday, 07:00 – 17:00 Friday.
Skills and experience
Specific qualifications are not required but some of the general skills that a good Cleaner should possess are:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Must be reliable
- Ability to work to set standards with minimal supervision
- High level of attention to detail to maintain facilities to a high standard
- Good organisational abilities
- Positive and approachable manner
- Good communication skills
Key Objectives
- To ensure all internal areas of the premises are kept clean and tidy at all times.
- To compile and follow an appropriate rota to ensure that all duties are covered rotationally and within an agreed timeframe.
- To comply with Health and Safety requirements: as per training, policies, etc at all times
Main Responsibilities
- To clean (including vacuuming, dusting sweeping etc) production areas, offices, kitchen areas (including white goods), hallways and reception areas, bathroom facilities (including shower area), as directed.
- Ensure all cleaning is provided in line with agreed methods, including use of cleaning chemicals & materials
- To remove waste and recycling from all internal areas, ensuring efficiency of storage and disposal
- To use appropriate cleaning materials and equipment and to ensure reasonable stock levels are maintained
- To clean Company vehicles, internal and external, as directed
- To ensure all kitchen and bathroom items are replenished as required (i.e. hand towels).
- To ensure that external waste and recycling is stored appropriately and is available for collection by waste carrier when required.
- To undertake other duties as required by the Group Finance Director to meet the needs of the company.
