- Hours: Full-time Monday – Friday 38.5 per week.

Key responsibilities
Mechanical design and development:
- Develop and design precision sensors, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Select appropriate techniques, procedures, and methods for mechanical design development tasks.
- Ensure the identification and management of mechanical deliverables, meeting agreed quality and schedule expectations.
Project and product documentation
- Maintain responsibility for Bills of Materials (BOMs) and collaborate with the engineering team to produce production build documentation.
- Ensure robust configuration management of all products and documentation.
Innovation and problem-solving
- Apply existing technologies and project engineering skills to lead the development of condition-monitoring solutions.
- Identify problems, analyse root causes, and develop effective solutions related to mechanical design challenges.
Prototyping, testing and validation:
- Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations using appropriate analysis tools and methods to ensure product reliability.
Process improvement and innovation
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Actively contribute to bids and proposals, helping secure new business opportunities.
Collaboration and stakeholder engagement
- Work effectively with internal colleagues, customers, and suppliers throughout the product development process.
- Maintain strong customer focus and ensure that end products meet or exceed customer expectations.
Compliance and professional development
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously develop professional competence by maintaining and recording Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.
Leadership
- Assist the leadership team in managing and delivering mechanical design commitments within the required quality and schedule parameters.
- Work closely with the leadership team to ensure that project and business-wide targets are met.
Quality
- Be highly motivated towards providing a final product or service that exceeds expectations.
- Maintain a customer-centric mindset throughout all development activities.
General duties
- Perform other tasks as required at the discretion of the company.
