Electronics Hardware Engineer

We're looking for a talented Electronics Hardware Engineer for our Torrington office, situated in the spectacular and diverse region of North Devon, with all the associated natural benefits such as the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty designated coastline and Exmoor National Park. The role will allow us to expand our project delivery capability, enabling us to meet our ambitious product development plans.
You will be joining a multi-functional team within an engineering organisation with strong links across industry and academia, where a combination of world-class, highly innovative products, robust engineering processes, and use of the latest technologies combine to support our customers, operating within some of the most highly regulated Industrial and Aerospace sectors worldwide.
The Electronics Hardware Engineer role will see the successful applicant engage across the full product development lifecycle, as a member of the electronics hardware team, responsible for the design, development testing, verification, and in-service support of condition monitoring solutions.
The role offers the opportunity for future career development into a senior hardware engineering role, team leadership, other positions within our growing multi-disciplinary engineering team, and opportunities across the broader CMTG group.
Skills and experience
- Degree educated or have a suitable level of relevant experience.
- Through lifecycle development experience, from requirements capture, design, and development, to verification and in-service support.
- Experience of working within high integrity, highly regulated industries such as Aerospace, Defence, or automotive.
- Hands-on, Digital / Analogue / Power Electronics / PCB Design, development experience.
- Appreciation of design and development for EMC compliance.
- Understanding of FPGA / VHDL Design and Verification would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of PCB layout and schematic capture tools with Altium being preferred.
- Familiarity with assembler / C programming for microcontrollers and DSP.
